About This Position:

Reality Labs is seeking a Hardware Engineering Co-op student to join the Hardware subteam, where you will be working on our Headset Development project or our Humanoid project. Our goal is to build an open source standalone headset complete with head, eye, and hand tracking; this headset will serve as the basis for future research oriented projects. We are also looking to create humanoid robotic arms that are capable of mimicking human actions.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be working closely with Team Leads to:

• Research and create recommendations for selecting mechanical or electrical components based on cost, specification, and availability
  • Communicate with Team Leads about component requirements and priorities
  • Read Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and compare different options
  • Create CAD models of selected components if unavailable
• Create designs based on project specifications and requirements
  • Explain design choices and reasoning
  • Design For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
    • Focus on FDM process
