who has been part of UG?
- hongfei & patrick was experimenting with new changes bonnie was proposing (got dynamic gestures working/long term & short term memory)
what does everyone wanna work on? What everyone has just started? How many terms they’ve been on → will follow up in the middle of this week
- bryan: learn more about ML + thinks vr will be a bigger thing in the future (was part of ug past term)
- wants more difficult tasks
- alex: prototype ticket ? got stuck with metaquest testing
- ml & maybe unity (not in province tho, so no access to vr stuff)
- aidan: trying to do some of vr stuff (?) — trying to connect metaquest (wrist console debugging thing)
- finish the unity stuff, then start more simple tasks, want to learn more about ml
- Shiman: really like ml and training data & interface design in unity
- more interested in hci side: bonnie’s vision, designing/learning how this whole thing will work, or ml tasks. experienced with unity!!
- suri: learn something and make something fun
- learn something to the point where she is the point where she is proficient in it. wants to work in c# and vr things first (has vr set!?!)
- vincent: worked on UG with previous design lead, help with design stuff (tap into some of implementation and see rationale behind bonnie)
- jonathan: down to work on anything, rather simpler tasks
- leon: new as well, wanted to do more machine learning, learning pytorch on free time rn, would like to apply what he’s learning
- jia: more interested in the pm sides of things. not proficient in unity or ml. 3d ui design
Finalize list of technical/product goals
- Should be as closely related as possible to Bonnie’s vision
- Some modifications may need to occur (after discussion with other execs) but we should definitely use Bonnie’s Figma as a foundation
- From Bonnie’s Figma page, this seems interesting, the starred points can definitely improve the user experience and lower the barrier to entry for creating custom gestures
- Wrist-Mounted Debugging Console will directly improve user experience
- General goal (?) : prioritize tickets that contribute directly to a better user experience (new interfaces, features, etc.)
- We have plenty of backlog tickets (in development/not-started) on the Unity side of things

- vincent: to have hand gesture input as responsive as keyboard, you don’t have the flexibility (no shortcuts like ctrl c + v). they started working on a way to capture a way to make a more complex system to explore all the features you want and express things like a language
- bonnie: how to make this possible without sacrificing usability? minimize cost of learning — UG next
